How Network Technology Works
A lot of offices around the world nowadays are enjoying the comfort of being connected through a local area network. This technology is very useful for the easier execution of tasks, particularly when each department in the company shares similar data, Internet connection, and peripheral devices. This is also applicable for home networks where only a few computers are used.
This option can be useful when you want to connect your personal PC to another one located somewhere inside the house. Hence, the most preferred method is through an Ethernet, which supports a reliable, high-speed connection with just a minimal amount of configuration required. Moreover, Ethernet technology offers the most general purpose solution that will allow the setup of networks with more than two computers. In fact, even if only one PC has an Ethernet adapter and the other one only has USB, it can still be used by plugging in a USB-to-Ethernet converter unit to the USB port.
Another way to establish a network is through a Direct Cable Connection. However, you can only use this connection if you have it readily available and network speed is not a concern. Alternatively, a special USB cable can be utilised for direct connection. But you can only prefer this option if your computers lack functional Ethernet network adapters. Just do not attempt to connect two computers directly to each other using ordinary USB cables because this can electronically damage internal parts.
Remember that making a mistake in these types of settings will ruin your entire connection. Moreover, this can cause fires due to faulty wiring or overheating. Consequently, you can hire a professional computer technician or a network administrator to install the type of network setting you like.
