ILL IT SOLUTIONS • CHADWELL HEATH, ROMFORD
Supporting the Poppy Appeal Since 2013
Supporting the Poppy Appeal has become an important annual tradition for ILL IT Solutions. Since 2013, our shop, customers, friends and members of the local community have helped us raise funds, create remembrance displays and support the work of the Royal British Legion.
This page brings that history together in one place. Choose a year below to look back at our fundraising, window displays, raffles, photographs and the people who helped make each appeal possible.
WHY WE SUPPORT IT
The Royal British Legion & the Poppy Appeal
The Royal British Legion was formed in 1921 to support people who had suffered as a result of service in the Armed Forces. The first Poppy Appeal was held on 11 November 1921, and remembrance has remained at the heart of the Legion’s work ever since.
ILL IT Solutions has supported the Poppy Appeal through our Chadwell Heath shop since 2013. Over the years this has included collection tins, poppy items, raffles, remembrance window displays and fundraising with the help of our customers and local community.

POPPY APPEAL 2021
Supporting the Appeal Through Another Unusual Year
Our Poppy Appeal
We knew the 2021 Poppy Appeal would still feel different after the disruption of the pandemic. That made the support of our customers and local community especially important, and we were determined to continue our annual fundraising.
The Raffle
Our raffle tickets were £2 each, with prizes including a signed Jacqueline Hurley print from the Remembrance Collection, a Jacqueline Hurley umbrella, a handmade glass poppy tealight holder and a light-up bottle in a poppy design.
Our Window Display
Our remembrance window display once again became a focal point at the shop. We encouraged visitors to take photographs and share them with us on social media so the display could be seen by even more people.
Special Thanks
Special thanks go to Jacqueline of Posh Original Art, It’s Just Glass, Linda and Jeff Kuyper, Richard from Weird Dimensions and everyone else who donated prizes, gave their time or helped us create the display.

POPPY APPEAL 2020
A Different Year, but the Same Commitment
The pandemic changed how many community events and fundraising activities could take place, but we still wanted to support the appeal and keep remembrance visible locally.
Our Poppy Appeal
With social distancing affecting everyday life, 2020 was unlike previous years. Many charities were facing additional challenges, so we went all out with our shop window display and continued our annual raffle.
The Raffle
Raffle prizes included a Jacqueline Hurley signed World War Two print, a handmade ‘Lest We Forget’ glass lantern, a ‘Lest We Forget’ keyring and reusable poppy-print face coverings.
Our Window Display
Our window display was created to keep remembrance prominent even during a year when many people could not take part in events in the usual way.
Special Thanks
Special thanks go to Jacqueline of Posh Original Art, It’s Just Glass, Linda and Jeff Kuyper and everyone who gave their time, prizes or support to help us create another memorable display.
